Yeah it's gotta be paid for by Tidal. MSG costs like $500k to operate for the night. This is a glorified industry event I imagine with 5k or so fans getting in and the rest probably in the know people.
I could be wrong then, NYC is a heavy industry town so I assume something like this would have a crazy guest list. No way they aren't doing this event without some sort of sponsor $ though.
Of course everyone is trying to get on the guest list at special NY and LA shows. But 75% of the room isn’t going to be guest list.
I think most MSG shows are 10-12k capacity, so I assumed 1k guest list meaning 11k for fans who likely at least order 2 tickets. So probably a total of 5-6k order being filled (I assume there were probably 20-25k requests but just guessing).
Your numbers are way off all around. And it's likely more than 20x your guess for ticket requests based on recent MSG demand, the low ticket price, and the overall hype of it being a 1 of 1 moment. (And bots.)
is it confirmed it'll be a livestream on Thursday? I can't find that anywhere and the press release about this gig didn't mention either ...
So someone on Twitter found a workaround to see where their seats are and if it’s legit, I’m in the front row. I’m freaking out lol (the workaround is to download the knicks app!)
Have seen lots of people get floor tickets but no GA so far. Plus she’s had everyone sit down on this run so seats only make sense. But I’m thrilled with anything either way haha
I don't understand why they even have a waitlist since anyone who were lucky enough to get tickets automatically were charged. Theoretically it shouldn't be possible for a waitlist under their very cool way about going about selling tickets. I'd say this is probably the coolest promotional gig at MSG since Coldplay did a free show there for Viva la Vida's release. I mean unless they are planning to magically add thousands of additional seats to MSG overnight in the most ambitious construction project of all time there shouldn't be a way to get additional people in the venue a day later? Or more realistically they don't have the stage setup complete and they end up being able to sell additional side/obstructed view seats.
Gotcha. Makes sense that they’d still have only been pending charges earlier today versus approved charges. I went on the Phoebe Reddit page this morning (yeah, I know) and people were saying the time they received confirmation along with the time they received a charge on their card. Didn’t think about the fact that the charge doesn’t really mean squat until the following day. Well, here’s hoping some terrible person’s whole dollar fails to go through!
