This is why I've gotten burned out on vinyl. Sooooo many variants. I'll just pick it up on a tour if it actually happens this year.
I didn’t know about all of the other variants before I ordered from her store. I just saw that the red was sold out so I ordered it on black. Oh well. The songs are all I really care about.
Hot take but I'm 90% sure this will be AOTY after hearing that absolute banger of a track (and Garden Song right after...) and seeing the guest list. This album sounds gorgeous too, and I love that she's tied in the skeleton thing with the ghost thing. It's not like this year didn't already have a lot of AOTY contenders, but.... yeah this one will probably do it for me.
Another vinyl Phoebe Bridgers: Punisher (Limited Edition) (Seaglass Wave Vinyl) (mit signiertem Artprint) (exklusiv für jpc!) (LP) – jpc
so there are definitely some that show the black lyric book behind the vinyl, and others that don't (red swirl: rough trade, landlocked). I wonder if that's intentional.
Damn. I like both songs a lot but I don't think I can personally put them in conversation for her top songs.
Going to be interesting having a summer Phoebe album. For me, she reminds me of the fall and dead of winter lol
Names album "Punisher"; makes the album artwork her wearing clothing w/ a skeleton instead of a skull. Will listen to the new song after I'm done taking in this new Charli XCX track, but I'm really looking forward to this album. Sounds like it's gonna really rule.
I think for me (feeling similarly to you) that's a hazard of her debut album just happening to come out in September, and also maybe her only wearing black whenever you see her haha - but there's a few songs on SITA (Scott Street, Motion Sickness, Would You Rather) that can be nice warm weather bops - Kyoto definitely feels like it has that vibe. I hope that I don't miss her on the inevitable tour for this.
I’m just thankful there seems to be a lot of each variant! Had no problem snagging the lavender Alps back when that was released, was afraid now that she’s blown up so much I’d get stuck with an underwhelming option. Slept in a bit today so if these pressings were more limited I’d have for sure missed out
