You should say it louder because you're right. Especially with so many bands absolutely tearing it up with female vocalists right now: Mannequin Pussy, Pinkshift, Hayley Williams, Julien Baker, Wolf Alice, I could go on and on and on forever. Most of my favorite releases in the past year have been from female fronted bands.
My violinist wife had these thoughts: “none of that violin is hard or difficult at all” but she liked it way more than I did, I also thought the tempo was off and he was “showing off” and she said she could play that part drunk with ten minutes of prep and I’m wrong and it wasn’t showy at all. (And she’s always right about this shit.) Great song. Didn’t love this rendition though.
I wouldn't return to this version often if it were studio, but it's exactly what I want to see from a late night TV performance, especially for someone getting as much airtime as Phoebe right now. Especially for something like Moon Song where it's a good song but I'm not attached to anything in particular about the album version at all.
she's done a lot of unique performances which are usually fun but this one was a miss. i do like the song overall though.
Like the performance after the first verse; feel like once she comes in with the guitar, the violin gets a little more subdued.
this. once she comes in and settles everything down, it's an awesome performance. the first verse is just cringe.
Anyone at the show tonight? Julien is the special guest who opened the show. I hope she comes out during Phoebe’s set and they do a song or songs together!
Incredible show. So glad Julien opened. I love them both so much. Seeing Julien in Oakland in a few weeks. So stoked.
Just saw her for the first time. Lovely, incredible show. for as much as people were talking about Phoebe having bad crowds, this was the only show I’ve gone to this year where the crowd was good and didn’t talk haha
Always surprised by what I’d do for love Some things I never expect They killed a fan down by the stadium Was only visiting, they beat him to death Went to my first Dodgers game recently and kept singing that to myself. Lol.
