She was great but her music is tough to get into with a crowd size as big as 5,000+. Tough spot for her to be in. Kinda feel like I won’t go see her again either unless she scales down.
These amphitheater’s aren’t only because of the pandemic right? She was originally set to play more indoor venues which would have been way more intimate and fit her vibe. I’m assuming, or maybe just hoping, she will play those venues on the next leg of the tour.
If she ever releases something like her version of I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning or something and expands her sound I’d be down for more amphitheater shows
Yea but the average age of the crowd had to be like 20 y/o so it’s kind of to be expected. I bopped around a bit too & found the closer I got the less talking there was.
I heard so many people talk about “oh my god I’m about to cry” or “so ready to cry” all show. Like shut up and cry already then. it didn’t help either that at pitchfork that some bass heavy act went like 15 min over their time and it drowned into phoebes first like 3-4 songs.
Sounds like there will be no way to go to a FeeBee show from now on without getting pissed off then. That’s fine, saw all three of her projects to date from 18-19. I can live with that lol.
I’ve been to a few shows recently and no matter the artist or venue size the crowd has sucked and talked the whole time lol. Won’t stop me from going though
At Pitchfork, there were two people behind me who spent like 10 minutes discussing the logistics of leaving the festival. And it’s like. You really couldn’t do that before she started. Or text each other. Or step out of the crowd. Or.
Has she had a violinist with her the past couple shows? I noticed she had one at Pitchfork but not in Detroit
Noted, maybe I’ll try to head up there from NYC if she ends up playing a smaller venue on a later tour. Excited to see her in Boston and am glad I have a seat so I don’t need to wait in line super long or race people to the front.
I also feel like me getting older and bitter plays a role in me hating every crowd everywhere I go lol
The biggest difference from living in Cincinnati and living in Chicago is that, mercifully, everyone here in Chicago at shows seems 5-10 years older than everyone at shows in Cincinnati.
