Is it your understanding that the following timeline is true? That's what I'm seeing based off of AXS. 6PM - Doors 7PM - Music starts by opener ~8PM - Phoebe
I would say maybe closer to 8:30 for Phoney Rodgers. When I saw modest mouse a month ago the opener played til 7:45 and then they started right around 8:25.
I went to two Pitchfork after shows (Weather Station and Hop Along) last weekend and not only were we tired but Hop Along seemed sleepy too lol both shows started after midnight. Japanese Breakfast last night came on at like 9:45 and wrapped up by 11. That was a good time.
TBH that's why I'm kinda happy Julien and Lucy haven't blown up in the same way Phoebe has. Most of their fans are there for the music and not annoying crowd members constantly yelling "I love you Phoebe" or some iteration of that. Not that all Phoebe fans are like that obviously, but a lot seem to be.
People are just constantly talking. I’ve told several people to kindly shut up and they look at me crazy.
That happened to me at a Julien Baker show in 2019 and it was the worst thing ever. I was front row and could literally hear peoples conversations going on way behind me. If you're going to talk throughout a show...maybe don't go to the show and go to a bar or some other place instead. People pay good money to go to shows and to have them ruined by assholes talking sucks.
This reminds me how I bought tickets to Julien Baker for tonight and completely forgot about the show. I’m sad.
