I got my tickets to the Berkeley show. One of my favorite artists that I still haven't seen. So damn excited.
I was mad her only Atlanta date is shaky knees but after this I’m glad I didn’t have to go through the stress of trying to get tickets for a smaller venue ha
I kind of feel bad passing on this show, but I hate the venue for Boston and it’s a Sunday/Monday. I’m at the age where the day of the week determines like 80% of my decision lol
Blue Hills Bank Pavilion is easily my favorite venue in Boston. Easy to get to, super nice hotel within walking distance, and not too huge a place. Saw Steve Miller there twice
Ahhh shit I just realized I’ve never been to that venue for a show, I mixed it up with the freakin Xfinity center in Mansfield. I don’t even know what I was thinking haha
I'm kind of bummed about my Copycat Killer EP. I was just able to pick it up from my parents' house, where I had it shipped because I was moving. I'd ordered it instantly from Rough Trade on November 10th, but I ended up with one of the repress variants. Not sure how that happens, but oh well.
Did you never get the explanation email? They sold more on November 10th than they had, so all extra orders were a new variant
Phoebe and all these pop stars together in a room…I hope they talked about collaborating with her some day
okay fuck it, just bought a ticket to friday of pitchfork since I'm on honeymoon when she comes to STL. figured I can figure out travel details later but I wanted to snag a ticket before they sold out haha. already had plans to see big thief the night after and they're on the friday bill but...twice in a row can't hurt right?? plus dogleg!
So I was planning to see Phoebe in NOLA before heading off to see my parents and friends in CA but am starting to worry about the rise in covid cases/low vaccination rates in LA (I just canceled an Air BnB after getting anti-vax vibes from the host) and see that resale prices are dropping on the show in Detroit. I've never been to either city and don't drive and NOLA seems like it'd be really fun to visit (French Quarter Fest will be happening when I'm supposed to be there) but I'm having all this pre-travel anxiety and am not really sure what to do. I'm fully vaccinated and not immunocompromised but I am still weary of traveling to places that are having huge outbreaks. If I do end up going to Detroit instead, do folks here have some recs on where to stay neighborhood-wise? I feel like AirBnB would be my best bet in either city and saw that a couple folks in this thread are going to the Royal Oak show.
TBH I think hotels are a safer bet in some cases than air bnb since they have paid staff that has nothing to do but clean. You just have to do your research and find nice ones that are likely to be under utilized to up the safety factor even further. I did this in Minneapolis over Memorial Day with solid results.
It seems hard to find a hotel in either city that is even close to the price of what Air BnBs are going for but I'm open to searching more closely. My other train of thought is just wanting to get out to see her in Detroit in Sept in the event that case loads are so high by October that things get canceled, esp in areas like the South.
Alright well I've just booked what looks to be an amazing AirBnB in Ferndale and bought a resale ticket with insurance in case I end up not going. I'll see what happens but I do feel better about seeing her (and MUNA!) sooner rather than later with all that's going on and also getting to finally visit the Midwest since I've never been! Also my ticket says "Order in Progress" and that my tickets will be available by Fri, Sept 10th but the concert is on Sept 7th. Should I be concerned? I've never purchased resale tickets before.
