Because the machinations of labels always interests me... Wonder how this is solely a Dead Oceans release while Boygenius and Lucy's next album were on Interscope. I had figured it was Phoebe as to why that happened but maybe not or it was a bit more limited of a contract.
i assume it has something to do with Saddest Factory as well. maybe the imprint's existence is carved out of her deal with Dead Oceans?
Maybe. Seems like Interscope and Geffen had another reorg (maybe, it's impossible to tell at this point) so if the right people left, it gave her an out.
Lost Weekend more like what it's gonna feel like when the album comes out and I'm listening to it and Monday suddenly comes
I suspect an astral theme to the song titles. And Lost Weekend can refer to the time lost when abducted by aliens.
I do know that only Boygenius as a band signed to interscope. They decided to go all in and see how big they could push it but did retain rights to do what they wanted with their solo music
Someone wants me to have no money, if the number of exciting albums being announced this week is any indication.
