The disease>simple was real cool. Ring mod going hard. The Fuego was definitely not *correct* but I didn't think it sounded bad lol.
project update: i finished 2.0! 2.0 is really underrated, but i only listened to well-rated shows so idk 2.0: - round room ✓ - the victor disc ✓ - 12/31/02 madison square garden, new york, ny ✓ - 2/28/03 nassau coliseum, uniondale, ny ✓ - IT (documentary + 8/2-8/3/03) ✓ - 11/28/03 nassau coliseum, uniondale, ny ✓ - undermind ✓ - headphones jam ✓ - 6/19/04 saratoga performing arts center, saratoga springs, ny ✓ - 6/20/04 saratoga performing arts center, saratoga springs, ny ✓ 2/28/03 is a contender for my favorite show? and the IT festival contains the best phish music i've ever heard. also... "headphones jam"!!!!!!!!!!!
@unbornwhiskey 2/28/03 is a monster, and has a serious argument for their best two-set show ever. As someone who grew up and lives in Nassau County, it's crazy that objectively three of the top 10 shows in their history occurred there (2x Island Tour and 2/28/03). You should get 7/29/03 on that list. The Crosseyed -> Pittsburgh Jam is an all-timer.
That second set was all killer, no filler. Love how they segued into Gin and then just kept the weirdness from the Ghost jam going.
That first verse of Gin with just straight up Ghost instrumental weirdness under it was incredible. I don't have Amar's ear for harmony unfortunately but I would've sworn they were playing it minor, or something. Maybe it was just general weirdness, either it way it blew my mind. Plus they were going in and out of different tempos, switching keys, Fish threw that Mr C drum line into like every jam in the second set - really high level stuff, loved it
@unbornwhiskey I have a friend who is a major 2.0 enthusiast and has listened to every single show from the era. Just shot him a note for some more recs outside of what you did. Stay tuned.
I was dosed to another planet last night—seriously, the most intense experience—but man, what a weekend.
Seemed like a great place to party. First two shows were a little lacking for me from the couch but in an environment like that I'm sure I'd have had great time regardless. And in general they're playing amazing so far this year, very impressed and excited with their playing. can't wait for vegas
Westville? I’ve never had anything but a great time at their shows, probably been to 5-6 at this point. My wife used to see them a lotttttt.
Yep. Don't know if I'll ever be B4LSIYD but I can definitely go to a fun party when its near me at a great venue
Forbin's > Mockingbird, 18-minute first set Stash, 47-minute Soul Planet second set opener, the first Axilla II since NYE '95, Fee encore... I mean, stop it.
