Long ass time ago, maybe like a decade ago, I read that PTA wanted to make a horror film some day. Hope he still does.

 

"Worst PTA Film" is still better than 99.9% of everything else out there.

Speaking of criticism for PTA films, anyone else still shocked, like absolutely shocked, that The Master got such a mixed reception back when it first came out?

 

Magnolia has been on a lot recently and I always wind up watching it. Performances are great but man could it have been cut down.

 

No. It is a very hard film to appreciate at first, especially after the showier There Will Be Blood.

When Focus picked up distribution rights they said it was scheduled to start filming in January for release at the end of the year. The first part obviously happened so hopefully it stays on track.

 

Stereogum is saying it's later this year, plus I imagine they'll be trying for awards season

Edit: Relating to an old comment from before, in the interview he states that he wishes he had cut like 30 minutes off of Magnolia, but I love it just the way it is

 

Quickly jumped to my most anticipated for the rest of 2017.
