It really would be impossible without a ball spotter in those conditions. I stink at golf but there are few things I hate more than having to drop because my ball is in some thick rough and I can’t find it.
bethpage black tournament condition rough is a living nightmare shot a 106 and was happy about it lol
The hardest course I’ve ever played was Tobacco Road near Pinehurst. It was awesome. Front 9, I somehow shot a 44 and I was ecstatic. Back 9……shot a 63 lol
I shot a 73 at Tobacco Road from the one ups a few years ago. My lowest proper 18 ever is 66, and this 73 blew the doors off that. Wild greens, incredible curve on the holes and some shots that just feel impossible. Having watched a lot of lead up to this tournament, I am certain I would not break 100 even with a ball spotter and decent length and accuracy off the tee. At best, I’ll make a lot of bogeys. At worst, a double digit number would be in play on every hole. I think Jason Day’s 150 is not far off for a bogey golfer.
I have a theory that sometimes bad golfers just score the same they normally score regardless of the course.
That putt cost me a LAB. I had an Adam Scott vs JJ, win only, bet with my buddy. He is a SRIXON/LAB golf guy and a good player (7 index) and he’s been goading me into trying to play a LAB even though I’m a decent player and a good putter. Told him in front of our men’s league Friday night that if JJ won, I would get fit for and buy a LAB. And if Adam Scott won, he had to play Titleist balls the rest of the year. I thought it was a lock. What an idiot.
I've had two LABs. Got fitted for the DF2.1 but just couldn't stand the look so I opted for the Link which I liked, but then I realized I don't care about looks. I just want something that will help me enjoy my time on the course - especially since I don't have the time anymore to practice as much as I'd like. Sold the link and grabbed the DF2.1 and fucking love it. It is laughable how big and ugly it is - but it's instantly helped my putting and cut 2-3 strokes off my round from bonehead 3 putts.
Just picked up a Mezz.1 max, excited to game it playing spyglass hill on Friday hopefully we can sink some putts
played my first round in 2+ months today. a few pars, a birdie, an assortment of well intended bogies, and one hilariously stupid snowman (note to self - you never have nor ever will have the shot in your bag to hit it through the narrow gap of trees) all in all - great to get back out there.
Now with Joe a free agent - would love to see him and Homa link back up. Not likely I'm sure - but since it was Joe's decision to split I wonder if Homa would bring him back?
All time round of golf on Friday, just a stunning course. Put it on the bucket list and just come to pebble beach in general, it is golf Disneyland
Looks amazing. My friend invited me to play a few years ago and my fiancé was going to pay for it as a birthday gift, but I had just started playing about a year or so before and I couldn't justify her spending the money for me to *maybe* break 130. lol. I'd go in an instant now.
