I kinda like DJ coming off a LIV win. I might do some to finish bets on good iron players like Morikawa and Hoge. I like Wyndham Clark and Jimmy Walker a lot too just purely based on form. I want this to be Cam Young so badly but I don’t think his game translates to this course so we’ll see.
frost delay in mid may. what a concept. hopefully they'll still be able to play close to 7-8pm to get round one completed in one day. have no idea who to pick this weekend and that excites me.
weird tournament we have going so far. scottie is lucky to be where he is, playing some pretty dumb golf. feel like you might see a rando win this event which could be fun. Sam Burns is +9??? lol
Course has softened up a bit with the rain and guys are taking advantage of it on the back nine, bu it's still proving to be a worthy test, especially with the tough pin locations. I was scared Scottie would run away with it today and he could still do it on Saturday but there's still so many guys in contention. Though he's a knucklehead, I love seeing DeChambeau relevant again. Kinda like Brooks where he is right now with him lurking around. He hasn't played as well when he gets to an early lead. Still lots of golf left!
Still lots of golf but this is a different Brooks than a month ago. It's going to take a herculean effort from Viktor to overcome the way Brooks is hitting it right now.
Block earned an exemption into the Charles Schwab and the RBC canadien. Guys life may have legitimately just changed today lol
I was pretty ambivalent about the whole Block mania. It's cool seeing someone on one of the biggest stages encounter the best week of their lives. However, his whole "Aww, shucks. Can you believe this?" demeanor turned me off pretty quickly. The guy has played in 25 PGA Tour events. And his subsequent quotes about being one of the top tour players in the world if he had Rory's distance runs counter to that demeanor. More power to him for getting his 15-minutes worth but my god the golf media milked this to death. I guess they saw this as one of the few golf stories to penetrate the mainstream in this post-Tiger world, but it has run its course.
