I love Brooks, but i think he is absolutely headed to LIV - he looks completely washed up out there and if he can guarantee a bag of $100m its in his best interest. He’s just not playing competitive golf anymore.
Fitzpatrick loves Brookline! Absolutely gutty performance. He almost blew it with that drive on 18 but he did the absolutely right thing on the bunker shot by just picking his club and then shooting right away. Didn't dwell on the moment and let the pressure build. I love the pace of his game. I am gutted for Zalatoris. The dude could conceivably have two majors right now. With the way he is striking the ball, he's a damn near lock to be in contention for every one of these but you gotta wonder if this becomes a narrative for him that will be hard to overcome.
We all saw this coming but this could just be the tip of an iceberg when it comes to news today in the golf world. There are some rumors Morikawa could be announced as joining and that would be the biggest blow to the tour so far. I hope the rumors are false like the ones that surrounded Xander. Also, the commissioner is meeting with players right now in which he is supposed to roll out what the fall schedule will look like and some other financial incentives to get the players to stay.
i just dont like the format of their events. shotgun start no cut 54 holes, it'll take a little getting used to, and will LIV have any significant TV coverage? if i have to pay for yet another streaming service to watch it, i am fully out.
Good to read that he's staying. As others have noted, it's more concerning he pours milk first than if he were join LIV.
Frankly, I’m gonna try it - never would have given it a shot but for crispy cereal, the logic is sound. Dig to the bottom for milk, get crispy and wet cereal, repeat.
Theegala has to be beside himself right now. I don’t know why he took driver on the 18th. He should have played it safer and just found the fairway however he could. And then his caddy tells him to chip out of the bunker and play it safe, but he goes for the kill shot instead and whiffs. Brutal way to lose on Sunday.
Theegala made it really hard for himself. I was cheering so hard for him this weekend as I don't really care for Xander or Cantlay, and I really wanted him to redeem himself from what happened to him at Phoenix earlier this year. Notice how I described the events at Phoenix; he suffered some bad luck there and it was not self-inflicted. Regarding today, I get that he didn't have a three wood in the bag so maybe a hybrid or long iron leaves too long of an approach shot for a makeable birdie that he felt he may have needed to avoid a playoff, but he should have taken his lumps and chipped out of the bunker and just try to get up and down.
I didn't realize he didn't have a 3-wood, but either way I would have taken the next longest club and just threw that into the fairway. That bunker is too deep and too in play to hit driver on the final hole. Even so, it happens, and you can just chip out and play for the par. I couldn't believe he hit that shot that way.
The guy was on a heater and feeling it. If he makes the shot, it’s just another on a day where he made the most out of bad situations. That lie was hard but it wasn’t THAT much harder than his approach a few holes before downwind, from an empty divot, over water. He stuffed that and probably thought even if he didn’t get this one out on the green, at worst he ends up where he was eventually pitching from and tries to get up and down. And no, I didn’t blow a similar shot this weekend to forfeit $20 in Nassau's, why do you ask
honestly, i’m kinda loving the LIV action. streaming free on youtube. These events seem like theyre a ton of fun for fans.
Currently playing with a 4 practice swing guy. Drives, irons, chips, and putts. driving me truly insane.
