Lol incredible if i tried that not only am i breaking my driver head but the ball is hitting one of those trees and coming right back at me
Stoked for this. The few clips from him practicing looked promising. But I'm just down for some good wholesome father/son golf.
Yeah it's gonna be great to see him and Charlie out there, but at the Hero Open last weekend, he was very straight forward when he said it's going to be "a long time" before he will be back to PGA Tour condition, if the time ever comes. I hope like hell he comes back in maybe 2023 and can win another major.
Yeah. I thought the way he handled the media last weekend was perfect. It felt like an under promise over deliver type of thing where he set expectations of "just enjoy me being alive and being able to even potentially play this game at a competitive level". However, you have to believe deep down he's thinking "I'm about to prove these people once again why I am the GOAT". I'm also curious if there is any thought whatsoever that if he actually came back and one a major - would it firmly cement him as the official GOAT? Of course he'll never beat Jack's major record but coming back from this to win another major? I find it hard to believe that people could even question it.
Same. I feel like it's pretty unanimous amongst our generation, I am just curious if the golf community as a whole would embrace it then.
18 major wins is astonishingly impressive but, 15 major wins is equally as astonishing. the difference of 3 really doesn't move the needle for me in Jack's direction. Tiger has already 9 more total wins than Jack, and to me, it seems like the competition today, when Tiger has won most of his tournaments, feels so much more difficult than it might have been back then. Obviously I don't know for certain that this is a valid argument because I haven't poured over hundreds of hours of old golf tournaments, but Tiger doing what he has done in the last 20 years, coming off the injuries he has had, i just don't think you can really question it. It doesn't feel as close as say a Lebron v MJ argument. I really think the gap between Tiger Woods and any other human who has even touched a golf club is so, so, so vast. I don't think Tiger wins 3 or 4 more majors, he very likely won't even win 1 more, but, yeah I'm set on Tiger being #1.
WM Open has been fun as hell so far. Have some money on Brooks winning it all. I think sitting in the gallery at 16 at Scottsdale has become a bucket list trip for me hah
Watching ESPN Plus coverage is actually useful this weekend for The Players, focusing exclusively on the 17th hole and seeing the carnage unfold. Crazy conditions right now with sustained winds of 30 miles per hour. One birdie so far on the hole.
Lowry was the most ideal player to make an ace there. He's such a fun player to watch. Nice timing to take a day off. Looks like they will finish today so gonna spend the day watching it. Kind of wish it was a more compelling leaderboard.
Seeing the weather at the Valspar right now is giving me the itch to go out and play 18. I'm working next weekend but The weekend after I'll be out there.
Holbrook Country Club is the closest to me, its a town course so the conditions are less than ideal most times, i play Sunken Meadow a lot too and its the same deal conditions wise. Mill Pond is near me too, a beautiful course but on the pricier side, and Timber Point is near me too, right on the water. Bethpage is great but its so hard to get tee times there before 4pm.
