Wolff showed his age a little today. You could just see him mentally lose it a bit at some point and he wasn’t able to reel it back in.
he just honestly doesnt seem mature enough yet. he kind of bugs me because it doesnt seem like he outwardly takes it seriously. he always seems to be goofing off and laughing at stuff and just kind of acting like a kid, and then yeah when he loses it he just completely unravels. i’m not saying that folks always need to be as stoic on the course as say bryson tends to look, but idk wolff still seems to behave like an amateur.
Did you think it was weird that he didn't finish out his putt to let Bryson close it out with his putt for the win? I know that's a little golf etiquette thing but even when it comes to stuff like that, I agree. I like him a lot but the difference between the two of them today was on display.
I kind of saw the Wolff meltdown coming after the pairings were set Saturday night. Like you guys mentioned, Wolff and Bryson have night and day demeanors on the course. After watching Reed being nails for 45 holes and then completely meltdown while playing with Mr. Methodical, I thought it was possible that the grind of playing the final pairing with Dechambeau might get to Wolff too. Crazy good finishing performance by BD though, putting up the only under par round to close out the win is a true killer mentality
Actually everything i read said that Bryson wanted to go first because he was in the zone and just wanted it over with. I don’t think Wolff actually made the decision to hold off.
Chipped a ball in from 100 yards out for Birdie over the weekend. Might have been the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me. Unfortunately I think it was 99.99% luck
lol i did a similar thing, hit maybe the best chip out of the sand ive ever hit and it one bounced into the hole. too bad it was a bogey.
Last weekend on the first hole I hit a perfect drive, then a near perfect approach shot, chipped on to the green, and putted for par. I said to my friend "it's gonna be a good round!" I lost five balls and maxed the next five holes. Golf things.
Gotta love the “he might say bad things but I swear he’s good to me (aka - rich old white male)”. Very sad. I really hope a lot of top level PGA players come out against his endorsement.
who i would really love to see win; Brooks Tommy Fleetwood Rory Tiger (only bc he's defending) Phil DJ who i think will probably win; DeChambeau, Rahm, or DJ
