I've listened to the song three times now and feel like it could have fit in just fine on USA.

 

Petey USA makes sense for the name. Too many Peteys out there for it to get lost in the SEO mix.

 

I might not be going to my show so I might be able to sell you a ticket below face value if you want (have an infant at home lol)

 

Petey USA is unironically one of the best indie rock things going rn

 

Also his delivery on the opening line is SO Soupy lol

 

Don’t love the name change but will admit I’ve never loved just Petey either. For some reason I feel like it’s a small hurdle in getting people to check him out. Doubt adding “USA” is gonna do him any favors there

 

Tbh I feel like the album USA is kind of a hard reset for him, so the name change makes sense.


TLDR: I think USA is better than everything before it

 

I think USA is the most consistent but don’t tell the boys and Apple TV remote are still my favorite songs of his

 

We Go On Walks is the GOAT and it absolutely slaps so hard live.

I like it. It’s fun and lyrically is kinda the thesis statement for the record but overall it’s probably my least favorite song on it. There really aren’t any bad Petey songs, I just think the first half of the record is basically flawless.
