Decided this deserves its own thread.

    Tracklisting:

    01. Reptile
    02. Blood Eagle
    03. CHVRCH BVRNER
    04. Garden In The Bones
    05. It’s Only Smiles
    06. Follow Your Ghost
    07. Crush
    08. Sentient Glow
    09. Satellites

I am beyond excited. Both songs are amazing.

Also the first song on the album is supposedly 17 minutes long. I can only hold so much hype.

Both are really good too! Blood Eagle is like heavier than they have been in quite a while, and Garden is super melodic and gorgeous. Loving them both.

If they are any indication this is going to be a huge album

Apparently The really cool color variant of the LP has sold out. So glad I preordered one before!

In other news, the preview clips sound great!

yea they were even like "hey we know this leaked so here it is on youtube"

Opening the album with a 17 minute song, that's a STATEMENT

this sounds awesome, surprisingly varied in the last half. gonna need a few more listens to let it all sink in, but i enjoy it!

  9. Love Periphery but yeah meandering 17 minute long opener isn’t what I needed from them right now

I liked the idea of a 17 minute song from them, seeing as how good Racecar was. Is the execution not as good?

oh I enjoyed it, I think the only song I got a bit iffy on was like, part of Satellites but that's just on first listen. And Reptile has Mikee from Sikth on it!

  12. I dunno, I’ve only listened to it once so I don’t want to pass judgement too quickly. But from that one listen it just felt all over the place and pretty unmemorable. Their earlier stuff had this tendency to just string random riffs together and that’s what this felt like

This is only in regards to that one song though. I haven’t had time to make my way through the rest yet

I'm into this. Am I the only one that thinks it sounds like I Am Abomination's last album? Granted, I haven't listened to much Periphery, so it could be the other way around.

EDIT: with some letlive mixed in.

Listening now. That violin intro for Reptile is really cool!

Reptile was really good. It'll probably take me a few more listens but there are some really cool things happening on that song.

The last 3 songs are really really good.

Overall this is another solid album by this band. Very diverse. Some of their most gorgeous moments and also some of their heaviest moments.

  19. Need more time with it, but I'm digging this. That Follow Your Ghost riff is too good.

It's Only Smiles sounds like a State Champs song but I love it.

Ooooh thank you for this! I always like when he does more melodic, poppy stuff (like his The 1975 cover) so I’m sure I’ll enjoy this.

I've always liked them to an extent, but the way he is singing in that song sounds EXACTLY like a melody the dude from State Champs would write.

Or ADTR? Are these guys the prog/djent version of ADTR? I dunno, I like it. I've never listened to much of their stuff before this album but I like this a lot.
