It’s weird. He’s almost gotten to that point where we take him for granted already. Interviews really started flowing this week but for how incredible this is I’m surprised there hasnt been more fanfare. Especially with covid pushing release dates. Of course we get 3 great releases in one day.

My guess is 8.7 or 8.9, because they’ll put it in context against No Shape, which got an 8.8.

This album is just so good. We got a lot of awesome albums today.

 

I’d hate to say too many. But I went from almost nothing that was really catching me the last couple weeks to being absolutely swamped today. An embarrassment of riches across the board.

 

Perfume Genius, Moses Sumney, Charli XCX, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Nick Hakim, I’m Glad It’s You, Rose City Band, The Magnetic Fields.....what else am I missing.

Having listened to and loved that Blake Mills record from last week, his presence on something like “Moonbend” feels so obvious. What a beautiful song.
