Me and my girlfriend thought quite early on that Gabe was questioning his own sexuality when he looked at a boy in the cafeteria during lunch. I only watched it once but something about the expressions he made kind of hinted at it? I also had the feeling that Gabe might just be closeted because he is deathly afraid of telling his parents he is gay or them finding out, just from that montage during the play when he looked out to his parents and they had that dead cold stare at him. I don't think we have seen his parents in any other scene?
