Is Phonix a song or album?
i assume, the album title.
It’s the new album.
Rising from the ashes. I like it.
Sweet. Wonder if he'll play any new tracks when he passes through Pittsburgh in August.
I can’t get to the end of his cover of Thread without getting emotional.
David Bazan is a goddamn treasure.
So is Now, Now, for that matter.
finally up on spotify. goodbye listening to all other songs.
Have you ever seen and idealist with grey hairs on his head
Or successful men that keep in touch with unsuccessful friends
You only think you did
I could have sworn I saw it too
But as it turns out
It was just a clever ad for cigarettes
Just revisited Control yesterday. It's still special. Hoping I can get a vinyl of it at their show on Thursday.
I thought it’s never been repressed??
They released a remastered version in 2012.
at least someones fucking honest about it
honestly the most brutal ptl lyric i think there is.
My personal favorite crushing lyric:
"My old man always swore that Hell would have no flame
Just a front row seat
To watch your true love pack her things and drive away"
jfc completely forgot about that one. the poison is real
All of Achilles Heel gets pretty dark.
Bazan said at the show tonight that Phoenix will be out in Feb 2019
Played a new song off of it too called "Quiet Friends" or something to that effect. It fit in the rest of their sound very well.
I guess we could expect a single in Nov/Dec.
Seeing him tonight!
Did not disappoint. Dave is a fucking legend.
It was a phenomenal show
Also noticed how earnest and respectful he is. Took his time to not only introduce the band, but also the entire crew. Thanked them, the opening band and the Grog Shop crew multiple times. He truly seems like a genuine guy.
Best of the best.
Shit i need this but ive spent sooooo much money on music this week
