I thought Phoenix was called that to signify the rebirth of Pedro the Lion. Hearing that it's about growing up in Phoenix, AZ is so cool. Perfect name for the album.

I was incredibly excited to hear this is one of five albums in a series.

This is great. I didn't get into Bazan/Pedro until last year but damn this is good.

Classic Bazan. However, if someone told me this wasn't Bazans solo stuff I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

 

thats kind of what i've been afraid of but i'm still hyped regardless.

 

Oh don't get me wrong I love anything he releases but to me this isn't really any different in terms of style.

I downloaded 30 Pedro the lion songs last night after hearing them for the first time. So fucking good. Can’t hear the npr stream in Canada tho

 

It's good. Was not expecting Yellow Bike to be my top track after the first few listens but that is a strong song.

 

I hate that this just happened so close to me and I had no idea it was happening, but at least I get it in video form!

 

Sunrise is such a great opening. makes me think of a sunrise in the dessert in early 1980's. Really sets the mood.

They were really good live last night. My second time seeing them and third seeing Bazan. Loved hearing the new songs from Phoenix.
