I'm so sick of everything just being a set up for another thing. Just tell a satisfying story. I enjoyed this season a lot but that ending really soured everything. I also thought of Alien: Earth, with it being a completely unsatisfying experience because it's all "don't worry we might pay that off in a few years" I'd be less annoyed if we were getting another Peacemaker season but now I'll have to watch a bunch of other shows and movies that I'm not very interested in to see why I invested my time in this to begin with
Really wish DC went the complete opposite of Marvel. No big interconnected universe. Bring in cool directors to do their own standalone movies. You could have some crossover if it felt right but not necessary
I'm also pretty alright with the quirky aura farming to music montages at this point. Especially when they are back to back lol.
i found the finale as a whole emotionally satisfying and that's all i could really hope for. on the podcast they said the last scene is just something they tacked on to tie into a future project and so i'll only regard it as such.
Overall I really enjoyed the season, maybe i'll just stop reading Gunn threads when I'm watching it and in between weeks. Chris, Harcourt and Ads had some really great stories throughout the season.
Posted this in the MCU thread too, but figured this could be in both forums. James Gunn spoke to Ryan Reynolds about Deadpool showing up in the S2 finale, and Ryan was on board with it, but there were too many hurdles for it to happen. https://www.ign.com/articles/james-...uldve-had-to-go-through-some-pretty-big-hoops
that would have been fun, but with all the door scenes it was essentially a nothing burger right? i mean so much time and money in editing those crazy worlds when nothing was really happening in the episode lol. cavill would have been way better and fun
Yeah, the doors were a missed opportunity for fun. The cute murder things was kind of cringey. Skull spiders were kind of sick
Ngl when James said this episode was to set up what comes next in the DCU, I half expected Brainiac to come through a door as set up for Man of Tomorrow
A bunch of people were mad disappointed that Superman or Brainiac didn't appear in this episode. The moral is either go big or go home, apparently.
Heh the lack of cameo doesn't bother me or anything, I just didn't know what to expect when he said set up for the future while also saying no current plans for a Peacemaker S3
People are speculating that rather than a Peacemaker Season 3, we might be seeing a Checkmate show instead.
I feel the finale could've and should've been a two parter. But overall as a whole, i preferred S2 over S1. As a fan of the comic-verse, I like having shows connected to movies connected to shows etc. It gives way to overarching stories. The cliffhanger was meh, when we found out there would be no S3 I had already figured that this season would be leading into whatever comes next in the DCU. As Gunn said, this isn't the last we'll see if these characters so we'll find out what happens next most likely in the supes sequel. Oh yeah, Foxy Shazam was awesome.
Pretty disappointing season. Disjointed, both somehow meanders and rushes, while feeling like a set up for something else in this new DC universe.
