Both songs are pretty solid, I like I Don't Know a bit more than the other. Neither are quite Queenie Eye/NEW level, but both are solid
Forgot about this for a while and gave a listen the other day and I still really like these new songs. Excited to see 16 tracks on here. I'm excited for the whole thing! Hope tour news comes soon.
First, song is fun as hell. Second it reminds me of Billy Joel in an interview saying (paraphrasing) "Even to this day, Paul McCartney says to me 'Got to be relevant. Got to have a hit' Man, does that sound exhausting".
Enjoyed the album quite a bit. It is really astounding that after all this time he still is able to make an album not only listenable, but also really pretty great. The fact that I will actually welcome him playing some of these songs live, considering how deep his music catalogue runs says it all. Need to listen more, but Dominoes and Back to Brazil were early favorites, as well as Despite Repeated Warnings (even if it's a little heavy handed with its message). Really it was pretty great all the way through.
Other than Kisses on the Bottom (which actually works for what it is), he hasn't had a less than really good record in like 15 years. New and Memory Almost Full are very good and Chaos and Creation in the Backyard might just be his best non-Beatle album. Glad to hear this new one delivers.
the new album is produced by Greg Kurstin of The Bird and the Bee. I'm curious about it just on that fact alone.
