just saw this, beautiful stuff. I think the 12 YEARS PASS was a little clunky lol but minor nitpick really loved that scene of Arthur and Hae sitting at the bar, surprisingly affecting stuff
Just watched this and it was beautiful. I loved it. Random thought but the premise and tone all reminded me of the anime film 5 Centimeters per Second. Anyway, the performances in this, the cinematography, and score all blew me away here—pretty amazing to think this is a debut.
I love that showing a character playing a video game with headphones on still automatically implies that they are a dork
That’s absolutely the implication in the scene. If it weren’t meant to have that undertone, he would’ve been doing something else when she got home.
We have 20 mins left to finish tonight. This is okay so far. Shot well, I don’t love the dialogue so thankfully the silence makes up for it
He could (and probably will, if this is anything worth talking about) change, but I think having him playing games in that scene makes him seem like a dork
I really like the video game scene and think it did more than just further establishing Arthur as a dork. He is very obviously stressed about the situation and wants to do something, If getting on a plane and taking extremely action was an option for him to prove himself he would go for it but he cant, he is forced into inaction.
This was fine. Well shot, dialogue was lacking. Did not hit me super hard. Probably middle of the pack BP
Debate about his character in this aside, Magaro has quietly become an “I’ll watch it just because he’s in it” actor for me
If I could place you as a person I’ve interacted with before that might hurt more. Maybe on a past site.
