kind of surprised there was no thread previously. been getting raves out of sundance

I hope Portland is part of the limited run. Definitely looking forward to this.

Yeaaaaaaaah this is pretty incredible. Probably a little over hyped but probably the best movie of the year so far.

Trailer is problematic in having most of the major impactful dialogue lol

 

Have only seen the trailer once. Can’t wait for it to be in theaters here

 

This movie does not fuck around. Wow!

damn…this was great

 

Saw this last night. Much more conventional than I was anticipating, but the script and the three key performances are so good. The final 15 minutes or so are really effective and probably the most edge of my seat stuff I’ve seen all year.

 

Yeah I agree, this was quite a bit more like, linear (?) than I thought it would be but I still really liked it and the final scene made me cry. The splashes of humor were really effective and the laughter they caused almost felt more nervous than anything, which speaks to how well this movie did tension. I also loved how the calm the camera work was, really not a ton of movement and almost always landing on some sort of picturesque shot. Maybe my only complaint is how the trailer, in retrospect, really didn’t leave a lot else to be told. Like it’s a beautiful film well worth watching but if you’ve seen the trailer then you won’t have much left to discover about it’s plot or themes

 

This is my favorite of the year so far.

also all I could think is that the plot is the Ludacris verse from Baby by Justin Bieber, didn't help that I didn't have a crush at 12 to relate to
