I actually just joined his sub stack and there's SO much material, I downloaded a lot of it but haven't listened yet. Some really intriguing things
A lot of weird confusing things but also a lot of demos and alternate takes and such, haven't listened yet but I've put everything in a playlist. You would be able to read about a of if it, here's the music specific stuff: Music | PassionPetunia Tunes n Stacks Upon Stacks o' Miscellaneous | Pąșśìóň Pïț | Substack I'll post in here once I do get around to listening
Here's what I think is the complete list of downloadable music so far. That being said, there are also like 4-5 videos (including I think the new single) which i didn't rip to mp3 or anything, so yeah a lot of content... The two long ones, I don't know if they are music or interviews or something else, but the rest seem pretty obviously to be demos and such
Michael is releasing a solo album! Michael Angelakos - Nine Times Your Torch Song (2025) • forum.chorus.fm
still upset this record never got a vinyl release. have fond memories of getting a pre-release copy because of a Twitter campaign he did.
I'll admit I barely can keep up or understand, but from what I can tell, Nine Times Your Torch Song is a 99-song demo archive that is being released only to his sub stack
And through a specific app? Disappointing. hearing mixed (more bad) things about his recent shows as well. Seems like he just fucks around, rambles and experiments for like two hours, which could be cool but seems fucked to charge your fans to watch you figure it out
yeah the PP reddit ended up on my feed and I saw several posts about fans leaving after 40+ minutes and saying it was horrible
"Side A" of the compilation was released, it's: Once Upon Your Balcony (mumble demo) What a Good Day! (iPhone) Get Well Soon (demo) The Way From Here The Way We Will Win (v2.8) Please Come Home Head in Your Hands (demo) Nobody Loves a Drunk Come See Through Me (to You) (iPhone demo) Strong Female Lead You Live For This (alt live version with Matt Smith’s Nervous System) with bonus tracks To the Other Side (Synth Demo) No Moon (Third Wave/amp/iPhone)
I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but I wish Michael would do at least one more proper album. Tremendous Sea of Love was good, but I think it is kinda half baked just by nature of how he put it out. Manners, Gossamer, and Kindred are all still regularly in rotation over a decade later.
Loved Ryn's album from forever ago, glad to see she isn't totally out of music. Would actually get a plane ticket to one of these shows if it was feasible right now. Both of these artists have been on my show bucket list forever.
