I hope Rob Thomas sticks this landing better than V Mars.

 

I absolutely never thought I would see the day where they actually bring this back, I thought it would stay a pipe dream forever

I wonder what angle they'll take. They're all just caterers again? Or we're farther into their careers now?

 

I’d go with Ken Marino heading a catering crew with new people plus maybe some combination of previous Party Down caterers, like Mullally/Starr/Hansen. Henry and Casey shouldn’t be caterers, their characters wouldn’t have stuck with it for ten years. But they can still be part of it, at catered events or maybe having hired Party Down for their own things.

I’m cautiously excited, I do love the original run as a perfect two season story.

As for guest stars, would enjoy seeing JK Simmons again but hope they mostly do new stuff. The Steve Guttenberg episode is a classic but I hope they don’t lean too much on cameos from the original run.

 

I would love Ken Marino to head a new crew of caterers and they do an episode each at one of the old crew’s houses/events. Would be a good way to get around scheduling conflicts too if each person has their own basically standalone episode. Maybe get the whole original crew together for just one final party in the finale or something.

 

Honestly most of the cast hasn’t even (visually) aged that much. It doesn’t have to be a time jump. Just pick up where season 2 ended

Weird that it’s scheduling issues. You waited ten years to do this, you can’t work to make sure everyone is available?

 

Keep waiting and then another main cast member can’t do it. Oh well.

 

Still stoked, I feel like they can make it work without Lizzy and if it goes for more than just these 6 new episodes they can hopefully bring her back in eventually!

Kind of weird that they basically just announced the same thing twice several months apart but I had forgotten this was happening so hell yeah lol. Really bummed that Caplan isn't coming back but I guess plotwise with this show it makes a lot of sense that they would fall out of contact with each other, plus I wouldn't be surprised if she makes a short appearance

Never saw this Show, but saw this article yesterday and figured I should give it a shot. Seemed up my alley.
Watched six episodes in less than 24 hours and will knock the rest out before start of weekend. Love it.

 

Finished season 1 last night and episode one of season 2. This show is fantastic. Funny stuff, great cast, and great minor cast. Some real heavy hitters for sure

 

Jealous you're watching it for the first time, what's your favorite episode so far?

 

Damn, I can't wait to rewatch this whenever this airs. I haven't seen this show in years

 

Caplan is A+ and I'm seriously bummed she's not in this
