welp....par for the course. The aesthetic they're going for would work a lot better if the music was heavier. Doesn't really work with this sound at all. I do like the album artwork though. I feel like they never fail to have at least decent artwork.
Haven't listened to this yet; will at some point. Literally only in here to say that no expression in the history of the music industry grates on my nerves more than "butt rock". It is such a dumb expression on multiple levels, and I feel dumber every time I see or hear it. Really can't stand it.
YOU WOULDN'T LIKE ME WHEN I'M ROCKING OUT, FERRARI (proceeds to hulk out into a giant version of David Draiman)
I think I like this song more than the first one. It does not need to be 5 minutes long though. I like the big butt energy this band has going on now, I dug the last two records more than I initially thought I would. mmmmmm stinky
New song is fine. I like it more than the other single. Feels like they’re using this album to transition into an entirely new sound on the next one.
Soul bleach is the heaviest/best song on this thing and their most old school type song in a long time
What in the hell were they thinking putting If A God Can Bleed on this? Maybe the worst song they've ever released.
If A God Can Bleed is embarrassingly bad. Rest of it is fine, not really good, very samey and generic. Might come back to this as background music sometime but think they’ve definitely fallen off a cliff, and I’m saying this as someone that enjoyed the last two records. Edit: Last song stinks something fierce, wow.
I tried y’all but just ended up jumping around on it cause I couldn’t handle 46 minutes. Soul Bleach is an ok song on here but still has a little more rap-rock/nu-metal vibes than I’d like. The closer is solid too. Now I’m just going to cry and listen to Atlas
Those are the only two mildly redeemable songs on the record. The rest sounds like Five Finger Death Punch and some of the lyrics might even be cringier.
I don’t blame you, I kinda cheated a bit by skipping the singles since I didn’t want to sit through them all again. Honestly the worst part of this whole thing for me is the lyrics. “ I’m not Superman but I still got issues” might be my favorite example
It’s a bad record. I don’t mind heavier bands going for a more accessible sound but this one is just…..bad. Just very weird arrangements and there’s only so melodic you can be when you don’t have clean vocals. I say this as someone that loved Ire. The weird talking/rap thing Winston does now doesn’t fit and that one ballad was seven minutes of cringe.
