"Probably one thing Park had working against it self was searching for the band online. Park started before myspace or facebook was ever around so we never thought about that. We will give you a link you should save and make sure you follow." ooooh shit
Resurrecting this thread because they're playing a show in July with Counterfit. https://www.seetickets.us/event/counterfit/650584 I'm finally going to fucking see them after they canceled the day of the show I was supposed to see in 2006, then consistently reunited on days I couldn't see them (my high school graduation, wedding, and birth of my kid — just incredible timing), and Covid canceled a fest my band was supposed to play with them.
Always consider Park, Over It, Northstar and Staring Back as a group of pop-punk adjacent artists somewhat appreciated on this website who released great albums but received like 5% of the dues they should have.
One of the only bands I can think of that is on par with Park in terms of being criminally underrated (at least in the US) with a rock solid discography is Hundred Reasons.
Ooh I’ll dig into them. I will point out the 50k+monthly Spotify listeners vs Park’s 4k. It’s like I’m listening to a local band haha
Hundred Reasons are huge in the UK, where they’re from. So I’d bet the majority of those listeners are non-US.
i once wore a Park shirt to a festival and (i think it was) Tiny Moving Parts’ merch guy complimented it. i might go to this show- i always want to attend their random shows but every single one happens when i already have plans well in advance that wouldn’t make sense to cancel. this is one of the last bands left on my bucket list, and this venue is a much shorter drive for me than the usual places they play. i wish they were headlining the show but like… how many more opportunities will i get? i kinda have to take what i can get! side note: furnace fest loves to bring reunion sets, is this band just somehow still too niche for their interests or something??? like cmon!!!
Never Forget. Springfield, IL's Park have returned with Jacob The Rabbit, which follows 2006's Building A Better ____ and serves as the prologue concept EP to the full-length album they're working on now.
Counterfit canceled their tour for health reasons, so I will yet again not be seeing Park (unless they do something else that day on their own).
i purchased tickets the literal day before they cancelled it… another year of wishing i could see Park and not being able to. so funny at this point.
Does anyone think the band is hinting at a repress of it won’t snow? Lotta social media posts about that album lately.
maybe. it came out in September 2003, so it could just be some celebratory kinda stuff they're posting for the month. could also mean a repress though, which would rule since i got rid of mine a few years ago.
