So getting out of this last night I thought “that was great, but I think the hype was too much...” and since then I literally haven’t been able to get it out of my head. I am dying to see it again and won’t be able to til sunday.
Idk that anything is gonna pass once upon a time for me just cause that was such a singular experience for me but this is #2 with a bullet.
Once Upon a Time is undeniably great but this is way, way better imo OUAT is an excellent ode to cinema but this has much more to say (not that they’re comparable or anything)
I found Once Upon a Time super entertaining but it didn't like.. move me emotionally at all. feel the same about all of Tarantino's films that I've seen (barring Basterds)
Yeah that’s CinemaSins-level garbage criticism. Which that site looks like some weird shithole anyway so who cares
I must be an absolute idiot because this review is 100% how I felt coming out of this movie. Entrancing tension start to finish. Then just left going “so?” when it was over.
Probably my favorite moment is the mom saying something to the effect of "If I was rich I'd be nice too, I'd be nicer than her" and then shoving the dog away from the food
2018: Shoplifters -- Japan, somber drama, naturalistic, basic theft 2019: Parasite -- Korea, comedy/thriller, basement dwellers, increasingly elaborate fraud
I feel the exact same way, and feel The Lighthouse was the opposite of this But man, this was such a trip. Just had no idea where the story would go, which really helps keeping you engaged in the story. I assume this was filmed in Seoul?
Also, what did the rock/stone symbolize? And did the title of the movie basically represent what the poor family did to the rich one?
