nah that's gonna rule. synopsis sounds like Moon I watched his first short film on the new blu-ray collection recently, honestly it's pretty hilarious
I doubt most people here would grapple with it, but part of the reason Bong went back to Korea was probably because of the reactions to his two English-language films. He was considered one of the greatest directors in the world until he made the switch. It shouldn't be so controversial to say something like this. You are naturally going to have a better grasp of the material if you understand the language. Things get lost in translation. That is not to say that all foreign directors decline when they come to the United States, but it happens enough to be notable. A few years ago I warned about Dogtooth director Lanthimos making films in English and he has been a shell of himself ever since.
I actually would like to hear the explanation personally, especially coming from a person who is presently criticizing someone else’s grasp of English haha
I think I legitimately disliked Snowpiercer enough that it has made me hesitant to check out his other stuff, even with the praise and even though I liked this
I haven't seen Memoria yet so maybe she will prove me wrong, but the constant variable is Tilda Swinton wildly overacting in those films. She has done it with other foreign directors, too. She is probably the best actor that I am weary of seeing in a movie.
Snowpiercer is kinda bad but Okja is great. also I'm **wary** of any opinion coming from a dude called Morrissey. just sayin
Tbh the whole weary/wary thing is slowly becoming my biggest pet peeve online. I truly don’t understand how it started but I see more and more people saying weary when they mean wary and it’s just one of those things that gets me ya know. We all have those things.
It isn't my fault one of you people took my old username or that Morrissey decided to get much more fascist since 2016. These things are beyond my control.
The one that annoys me is people using the word verbiage when they mean terminology. It is becoming a bigger and bigger issue.
