Like, the seat right next to you or was there a buffer seat? Did he at least acknowledge you with a smile and nod, so there was no tension? There's no good outcome to this, but we can work with it.
I used to go see movies super late during the week and I had plenty of theaters to myself. It was lovely.
When I watched Moon, there was just one guy around my age sitting several rows behind me. Two introverts watching an indie flick alone, that could've been my soulmate.
When I saw A Hidden Life it was me and seven other solo people and no one else, I felt very at home amongst my peers
When I saw A Hidden Life there were at least 15 people but nearly all of us sat on the front balcony because it has the best view + the only place in the theater with comfy couches. So we were all close together despite having an entire open theater
Speaking of audiences, I noticed everyone in my Parasite screening was at least 55+ and about 20 minutes in, an elderly couple got up and never came back
My showing was maybe the most diverse group I’ve seen in a theater in recent memory. Everyone was into it and it made the experience even better.
ditto @EASheartsVinyl this was the least white audience I’ve seen in recent memory and the city I live in is extremely white
Best part is I did it for less than $10, just got the two soup packets which were ~$3 and change and then got a cheap marbeled sirloin from Wegmans for like ~$6. Definitely doing this again it's really good.
When I saw this movie for the first time in November there were maybe 4? other people there besides me and my friend. No one said a word, it was unbelievably chill. Kinda sad I won't get another theater viewing experience of it like that now that it's blown up
There was no one else in the theater when I saw Birds of Prey last week. Think that was the only time that's ever happened to me
yeah I've seen a movie with like a couple of people or 4 people but never just myself, I'd be worried that I was gonna be murdered or something haha
Local Independent cinema just announced that they’re doing a “Bongfest” this weekend. Showing Barking Dogs, The Host, Mother, and Okja on top of both the B&W and color versions of Parasite.
