The worst problem I ever had was the dude who snored behind me all through uncut gems and then woke up when I tried to bring in an employee, combined with the people sitting next to me who hated it and wanted everyone near them to know. “Ugh, I could write this script.” Not the best Christmas.
I go to early afternoon showings on the weekends... lower prices, less people. I was one of six people when I saw Bad Times at the El Royale and these two girls in the back row were constantly giggling. I don’t know if they were high but the other two people got up to alert ushers and they ultimately got escorted out half way through
wish i had a dollar for every time i'd hear someone talk/whisper or have their phone out or laugh in some inappropriate way. it's incredible how the easiest of theater etiquette is lost on so many people around here
random quesiton: Has anyone subtitles for this film been printed where the 2nd half of a sentence went on top, then first half on bottom. So to read them you have to go left-right, bottom-top. My showing had them formatted like this + subtitles would randomly be printed in middle of screen some times and the theatre claimed to me "thats just how the film is formatted, its intended" but like.... I got to see the film at TIFF with the director + cast there and the subtitles were printed in normal left-right, top-bottom format, so i feel the theatre was just a bunch of idiots who have a bad print of the film and dont know what they are doing. Ultimatally it was no problem cause it took like 2 minutes for my eyes to adjust to this reading order, but just seemed....odd? Especially when text would appear in middle of screen noncentered example: " something like this. The subtitles would show "
I’ve never experienced that in my life. Always see them at the bottom of the screen, read left-to-right.
I would assume the subtitles are the same for all copies. It would seem weird if there were different versions.
I saw it both at home and in theaters and the subs were all on the bottom of the screen in normal fashion
Does anyone else jump up and down and scream excitedly when they enter an empty theater because no one can stop you? My best friend and I do. It’s so liberating.
I don't think I've ever fallen asleep during a movie I haven't seen before. I have definitely fallen asleep during movies that I'm watching at home on the couch though.
I've never been to a fully empty theater. Closest was myself and some other guy. I would feel awkward alone in a theater.
I forget what movie it was now but I was alone in a theater and some guy came in and sat directly next to me
My friend took a bunch of us to see "Wild Things" in an empty theater when we are all like 15. Naturally, there was a lot of hooting and hollering.
