Just saw this. Was totally captivated, especially didn’t see that twist coming halfway through. Cant wait to go through the thread and read everyone’s thoughts.
This was a fucking roller coaster. So glad I managed to wait this long and still go in totally blind.
Very good film. That being said, I think it's just behind Uncut Gems and Midsommar for my favorite of 2019 (respectively)
What’s your favorite of the year, just curious This was my number 1 for sure, Uncut Gems would be 2 probably
marriage story the lighthouse ad astra hollywood little women this irishmen after that there’s a bit of a drop
Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood Portrait of a Lady on Fire Little Women Parasite The Irishman Knives Out Midsommar Ad Astra The Lighthouse The Last Black Man in San Francisco Strongly recommend seeing Knives Out a second or third time. It's a hell of a lot of fun the first time with a big crowd, but it weirdly rewards repeat viewings.
I really want to see Portrait of a Lady on Fire. I probably won’t be able to until it’s gets released on digital though. I’ll be surprised if it makes it to a theater anywhere near me.
Oh ok, I knew it was getting a release next month but want sure how big. The closest big city to me though is Jacksonville so I will not be surprised if it’s not anywhere within an hour of where I live lol. I’ll keep my fingers crossed though.
Picked this up on Blu-ray this morning. I'm about halfway through a rewatch and this movie is still as incredible as it was the first time I saw it. seriously a flawless film.
Saw this last night knowing next to nothing about it, and wow. The 2nd act when they're trapped in the house might just supplant the Spahn Ranch scene in OUATIH as the most tense sequence of 2019.
I love the editing in the scene too where they're being held hostage by the housekeeper and husband. They're reminiscing about laying on the lawn, then it cuts to the dad lunging at the phone, cue music and family battle. It's so damn great.
