I didn't like Now back then and still don't today. I think it's the chant and the quirkier vocal performance that throw me off the most about it.
I didn't like it for those reasons when it first came out, but it's definitely grown on me over the years
Well that's just false, it's not even the worst one on that record I could go without hearing Still Into You ever again
I don't think there's a single song on any of their records I would skip. Even some of the rarer b-sides are gold. "Now" is a killer song
Nah what's this ripping on S/T rubbish! The bridge to Proof is one of the highlights of their career and that last chorus to Be Alone is wow'sers!
I think this is a big reason why it wasn't well received. However, after they released it, Hayley started playing around with the vocals of other songs more often while live, similar to how she'd deliver the vocals on Now, and it feels perfectly natural to me. Now is one of my favorites from them. Most likely sitting on a Top 5 list alongside Tell Me How and Proof.
honestly did not realize people loved Now so much lol. Looking at my ranking of Paramore songs it's at 50.
Ain't It Fun is probably the one on the record where I love it so much when I think about it, but I overplayed it so much as a teen that I can't get down with it as I used to anymore. I think I must've played it triple the amount of times of any other song on the record, and then it became a single, so I heard it pretty much every day after that.
Part of the charm of s/t is the length. It's why I don't put it on as often, but I love that you can really sink into that record. I wouldn't cut songs from the record, I would add the two b-sides because they're incredible too.
Yeah self titled is too bloated. I never go back to it because of the daunting looking track list. But I listen to “ain’t it fun” a lotttt.
