I just don't get Petals at all but I like every Paramore song. I hope they just are wildly creative but if there's any band whose vision I just trust it is Paramores.
Y'all have wild rankings. And to be clear I love all of these records. Also it feels kinda weird to rank the solo records in with the Paramore records but this is how I feel. AL Flowers Petals BNE S/T Riot! AWKIF
Would be very down for post-rock or Radiohead-influenced Paramore. Seemed like an area of interest from the PFA work.
S/T is easily at the very bottom of my list. Just not a fan aside from a few songs. Admittedly, Last Hope is one of my favorite songs from them
After Laughter Brand New Eyes Flowers for Vases Paramore Riot! Petals for Armor All We Know is Falling
Love everything as well, no hate here to any album. Paramore Brand New Eyes Riot! After Laughter Flowers for Vases All We Know Is Falling Petals for Armor
Woah. I'm on my first few listens of Self Titled and it's miles deeper than their first few albums. Was expecting more teenage pop-punk and didn't expect anything with this level of depth in terms of the music.
Where does "Now" rank on everyone's list of top Paramore songs? It just shot straight to number 1 for me. The energy in the chorus is absolutely insane. Watching them perform it live is giving me chills. It kind of sounds like it could be a Silversun Pickups song but instead of an anemic indie rock chorus it has this overpowering pop-punk energy. Just...wow. EDIT: also, after revisiting their live performances, this is one of those rare bands that are better live than they are on recording for me. Their studio songs are not super memorable, but watch them play them live and they take on a completely different energy. Such a shame they aren't the biggest band in the world right now.
I remember that song getting a lot of hate, but I have always loved it. Ilan absolutely fucking crushes it on that song.
That's crazy to me. I'm not seeing it show up in many "top Paramore songs ranked" lists either. There aren't many songs in their discography that come close to touching this imo:
Self Titled ranks near the bottom for me, but Now is definitely one of my favorite and most played songs of theirs. There's actually a few songs on that album that I'd put in their best songs list, but it's also got a lot of filler for me.
That album is my favourite thing they've done but Now and Be Alone are the two songs on there I don't really love. it does have a pretty sick pre chorus though.
Now has always been one of my favorite Paramore singles, the Silversun Pickups comparison earlier is honestly pretty accurate. Self-titled album was such a huge musical leap for them.
