I'm listening to self titled right now, I really should have given it a solid listen when it came out and gave it the due it deserved. It's such a solid fucking album.
Really like most of what I'm hearing from the new song. Great effort and upped my excitement for the album release.
I think I would show someone who really wants to get into the band "Playing God", "Ignorance", "That's What You Get", "Turn It Off" (so there's one overlap at least Kayla), "Pressure" and "The Only Exception", then a few wacky ones like "Decoy" and "Tell Me It's Okay/Foreign Tongues"
Self titled was so unusual for me where I really really didn't care for the first 3 songs and j was like ugg. Oh well But then literally every song after that was fucking gold! Taught me to not give up on an album just cause it starts sorta weak Good to know this new album won't have that problem since we start off hella strong
Yeah, I was trying to pick stuff that shows a wider range- (also would have included a lot of S/T) one of the most frustrating things to me as a "super fan" is when they get written off as any one type of sound. They honestly have such a diverse catalogue! also, funny enough, think a lot of their best work is in the b-sides like the singles club songs, the pre-Riot demos, etc. idk! It's also hard for me to pick because I honestly love every single song. Sort of off topic, but I love how seeing certain songs live completely changed my opinion of them. Wasn't a huge fan of Brighter or Fast in My Car, but seeing them live made me appreciate them so much differently. Just a great band. Man.
My second favorite Paramore song after Playing God is Decoy. Paramore B-sides are almost always jams. but yeah seriously one of the best bands The thing about certain songs live is true too. I didn't love Future or Last Hope too much but seeing both live made them shoot up my favorites in the discography. That build to the last chorus of Last Hope especially is just captivating
Getting so caught up in listening to new music from new artists, trying to find that next band that makes hits me had, it just feels so good to dive back into something I'm already familiar with, something I've invested so much in. Basically, it's good being a fan.
Paramore shared a "Paramore Essentials" playlist. Though of course, this is mostly singles/their most popular songs but I'm loving getting a playlist from the band. :3
So I'm currently thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail and haven't had service for the past 3 days. Came into town to this news! I've listened to this like 19 times. Love it! Gonna make for some great trail jams.
Perfect song to get you through the days on the trail you want to give up! Good luck the rest of the way!
So I loved the single on initial listen and I still like it, but for me personally, I could see it getting kind of annoying in the future. I don’t want that to happen, but after playing it 20 times or so, it’s worn on me a little bit.
