I don't know what those mallets are called but I always love the sound a floor tom makes when it is hit with one. (For all I know it could literally just be called a mallet)

 

that song's not bad, band sounds like Paramore-lite

 

For Everest are great people and Sarah is a very nice person who is much more than David Bello's girlfriend. I'm not sure I would compare them to Paramore though.

 

well yeah, i wasn't trying to lower her to that, just was giving a reference point that people would know.
musically they sound like earlier paramore to a point, more just trying to get people to listen to them, hah

All of the Instagram posts are making us all salivate for just a little snippet of info!! >.< Though this is the most alive I feel this band has felt in years - like they actually have a presence and buzz about them. I'm so excited.

Thanks! No issues with being drumsplain-y. I always wanted to get into playing drums but as you probably know having grown up in New Jersey people in suburban Nj neighborhoods can be super complainy about drums being played in the neighborhood so I was never able to get one

 

Are they seriously already doing vocals? This has gotta be demos or scratch tracks right? There's no way they are already that far along in the process... If this is final finished vocal tracking (obviously not this video but what they're working on now) we'll definitely have an album this year

I am hoping November. If they had everything written before hitting the studio and they record fast, I could see Nov.

Also, it could be possible that Zac is back just to record and that Aaron is still gonna tour with them. I know one of the reasons Zac left, besides just waning to stand next to his brother, was that he was just legit burnt out from he road. He had been on tour nonstop for almost 6 years. I would love if Zac is back full time, but it could also be possible that he's just recording.

This may sound stupid, but what does she mean by that exactly? Haha

 

"recording advance" generally means the label gave them the money to start recording an album.
