I want to reward one of the newer records for being more expansive and “creative” but BNE is just masterfully concise, a magnum opus of that sound and era, so it’s my number one followed by AL. S/t would’ve been their best if they took away most of the quirky songs and left unperturbed the more atmospheric/elegant rock record contained within it. Feels like 2 records mashed into one for me.
It's all about This Is Why and S/T to me. After Laughter is still hard to revisit because of personal life stuff tied to the time it came out, and the others don't really align with my music tastes anymore so I rarely put them on.
for those who didn't get the split with David Byrne yesterday, the lype sticker indicates that they might be starting a label called Fine Print. not sure if they'll release everything independently through this name or team up with a larger label for distribution purposes. hell, this could just be a one-off thing for this and anything they release in the interim between TIW and the next album. but it's still pretty cool to see. https://www.reddit.com/r/Paramore/s/ctXmbMTvWl
I'm a This Is Why hater, it's just not my thing. And no she doesn't utilize her vocal talent on it imo.
Not liking the songs is one thing but saying she doesn’t use her voice well on it is insane. The last handful of tracks especially.
