continued penance for the many years they openly mocked basically all emo bands (when they covered them at all) I guess
Yea it feels so weird seeing retrospective acclaim of this era of music, like damn should have been with us from the start haha Now change the score of This Is Why up to at least an 8.8 as well
Kinda silly how Pitchfork ignored (or at times, bashed) the whole Emo/pop-punk movement in the early 00’s but now they’re calling it an “essential” release. Glad for Paramore, but this is cringy for Pitchfork.
I was 14 I emailed a rock station in my area recommending Finch, Something Corporate, Taking Back Sunday, Paramore and New Found Glory and I got back a condescending mocking email calling all of those bands trash. It was great like a year and a half later when that's what they played on their station.
revisited this is why in full....remembered why it still lives on my phone as a 4 track ep. "figure 8" is sublime HOWEVER after laughter gets better every time I hear it
Paramore talk becoming independent, RSD, vinyl love, David Byrne, new music & more Makes me excited about where they'll go next as an independent band.
I think it will be, inevitably. And I'm right there with you. It has a few bops but not my fav as a whole.
