i've only heard the first two singles so far but my ears just perked up like a dog and i am excited to hear what you are referring to on friday
Zane Lowe is almost like a modern day Matt Pinfield. Like, he's just soooo knowledgeable, attentive, etc. Zane takes it even further. In this interview when they're talking about their little personal fidgeting and everything, it almost made me tear up, because it was like... so real and honest, and these 4 people are just so fucking cool.
I hate that my easily top two first album listening experiences are tied to a creep. I guess third place is maybe Sleep Well Beast. Got home from work, vinyl was waiting for me at the doorstep, poured a drink, and listened through in silence. Was pretty magical.
I always get excited when I see a favorite band of mine has had a lengthy discussion with Lowe. I don't think there's any more disarming, engaging, thoughtful person doing this kind of thing. No one challenges artists to expand on their art better or more tactfully and honestly than him. I've never felt anything but immense respect for artist and interviewer coming out of one of his sit-downs. This is no exception, great stuff, and I can't wait for Friday.
This is cliche, but I just love how real this gets. Breaking the fourth wall of how weird interviews get on an interview show. Love the authenticity of these people.
I've never really paid attention to their interviews before but... As an incredibly anxious person I feel so seen and validated by Taylor in this interview. We're lucky to get such a candid and transparent look into the making of the record and how emotionally and mentally exhausting the process can be, not even including the touring/press/travelling etc.
Unpopular opinion maybe but I think Lowe is hit or miss. For some reason he hits off perfectly with Paramore though. I loved this interview as much as the After Laughter one.
Figure 8 is awesome too! Sorry for not giving more detailed thoughts lol just taking it all in right now
holding back on further comment for the moment but I'll say I'm glad they have not abandoned the excellent production standards of their last two albums. sounds dynamic and not too squashed.
Listening to this after watching the interview, I can really hear what Zane meant when he complimented Taylor on the more rhythmic direction he's taken his guitar playing here and there. I'm getting strong Mew vibes from Figure 8 for example.
