This is my least favorite of the three pre-release tracks as a standalone song… but it’s still good! I have trouble imagining a tight 35-min album with these three tracks that doesn’t settle in as my new favorite Paramore release.
I wasn't sure about it when I heard the first chorus, but the song is just weird enough to really work for me.
I think it's a really cool song actually. A bit surprised it's a single because it sounds more like an album track to me but I like how weird it is
I think the new track has suddenly become my favorite so far. Did not expect that from the first few listens.
The newest song is literally Dry Cleaning to a T (at least the verses) and I don’t like Dry Cleaning haha I haven’t loved any of the songs released honestly and am not a huge fan of the direction they have been going in (including with Hayley’s solo albums), but maybe it will be better in the context of the album.
I really had Dry Cleaning in my mind during the verses, it went further with that than I had expected. Listened to it 3 times and I'm gonna lay it off till the album comes out
I thought I didn't like C'est Comme Ça, but then I heard The News which I really really didn't like and I like it a lot more now.
FBR and Atlantic are, for all intents and purposes, the same label. Just a different logo on the back of the artwork.
https://www.billboard.com/music/fea...y-new-album-cover-story-interview-1235201005/ “We don’t want to be a nostalgia band,” Williams says today, reflecting on that speech. “But I think what I felt was a mixture of vindication and also a lot of anger. I was really surprised that I had so much anger well up in me because I was like, ‘Wait a minute. They’re treating us like a prize now,’ but like, Fat Mike [of NOFX] used to tell people that I gave good rim jobs onstage when I was 19 years old. I do not think that that’s punk. I don’t think that’s the essence of punk. And I feel strongly that without young women, people of color and also the queer community, I just think we would still be where we were then. “It felt like justification to be able to have the mic and to be one of the last bands that played,” she continues. “We hung out with My Chem a few minutes before we went on [on] the last weekend, and I think they feel very similarly about how they were received. And what it comes down to is that the fans are the ones with the power because otherwise, us and My Chem wouldn’t have been headlining that thing. And I think that’s beautiful.”
Some good parts in that article, and some disgusting Fat Mike quotes furthering my disappointment with that guy
I'd like to think they wanna be done with FBR with that label just sweeping numerous artists/bands who have allegations against them under the rug but I also don't want to put Paramore on that pedestal. In any case, good for them.
But if FBR is an offshoot from Atlantic, then that still works. Again, I won't put them on that pedestal for that being their reason but cool to see them expand nevertheless
FBR is an offshoot of Elektra (WBR). I would not be surprised if they signed with FBR next though. Johnny's been signing all those bands (FOB, MMATA, Avril).
I think so? I can never keep track of how they put all that stuff together I think it was in 2018 that WBR moved FBR under Elektra, and moved Paramore to Atlantic.
