The News is absolutely fantastic. Really feel an influence from those debut Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party albums.
Song is awesome. Re: merch, $80 would be worth it to me if the design was actually good. Their new hoodie design is just lazy.
This album is shaping up to be pure mana for music writers who like to use the phrase “angular guitars”.
I at least appreciate that Hayley talked about why the merch was so expensive. That’s a level of transparency I don’t see often, and it’s nice.
Wtf, The Game Awards played The News as the background music as a presenter was coming out on stage lol
Anyone know who mixed the new songs? Edit: No wonder the mix sounds amazing, it was done by Manny Marroquin
these lyrics are not my favourite but the song absolutely rules. luv 2 hear the bloc party influence coming thru
wow, this is exactly what i was hoping for, incredible song! love the aggressive, almost prog like sound they are incorporating while still having everything that makes paramore great. so excited for this album, i feel like it could be their best!
I could easily see it growing on me but I actually don't love this song on first listen. I don't think the chorus melody quite clicked with me, and the lyrics are a bit on the nose. The instrumental is really cool though
The News is so perfect, I love everything about it. The drumming, Taylor’s interplay with Zac, the vocals and lyrics, video, mwY/Bloc Party vibes… SO up my alley
Love the little cowbell part going into the second prechorus. Kinda weird, but this song gives me a little bit of MeWithoutYou, like the manic-ness of it. edit: missed the MWY comparison right above my comment ^^^ lol.
Woah, The News is great. Agree with the previously mentioned comparison to Incubus. I hear a ton of "Light Grenades" in the guitar tone. That's a compliment.
Good ear! Didn’t think of that comparison until you mentioned it. also: (I can never decide on an app for that final spot and it’s been blank since widgets launched)
The part of the video where Hayley has the red teeth reminds me of when my friends and I would take Fruit Roll Ups and mold them into sort of grills on our teeth.
