The people who label songs as “tour debut” are very weird to me. Especially when this isn’t a full on tour.
But it’s random dates. This was a festival set. Its not part of a full tour. Regardless, I still find it odd to note it on that site.
artists who play festivals during a tour tend to consider it part of that run of tour dates, that's fairly standard practice. also setlist.fm is literally built to provide that kind of detailed info? i can't see why it bugs you, but whatever.
This is one of the dumber fights I’ve witnessed on this site.. my two cents, who cares if people post it? It’s nice to know it’s in their arsenal if you’re going out to see them!
I guess I’m just confused what the issue is lol. Would you prefer it say “live debut” rather than “tour debut”, in other words it’s an issue of wording? Just trying to understand.
Well people do live debut as well, they make tour debut when bands work a new song into their setlist during a particular run. It lets fans know what songs they could possibly play during their set. It’s particularly helpful when bands mostly play the same sets every night but add 1 or 2 new songs.
Isn’t every song in a band’s discography technically in their arsenal? Just sayin. Bands who switch up their setlist every night, I think it makes more sense to just put the songs names alone, and not “tour debut.”
Not necessarily, how many bands, not named mewithoutYou, go on tour with the ability to play every song?
Yes, there are bands that are really good at doing this… but I don’t believe it’s the majority of bands. Also, even in those situations I think it’s cool to know when they break out a new song for the first time. I know during the mwY farewell tour I would watch the setlists and enjoy seeing when a new song was debuted, I don’t have photographic memory so having that extra information is helpful in that situation. I just don’t get getting upset at getting more information on a list lol.
just because the shows are relatively limited and spread apart doesn't make them "random". its a significant amount of shows, in a certain time frame, promoted together, with largely the same set list. it's a tour. and if you find noting tour debuts as odd, you are going to have ball with the rest of setlist.fm - like further down the set list where they note hayley's grandfather's favorite song dedicated to him - tour debut, reaaaaaal odd
I’m sorry I found something so fucking minuscule stupid and said so. It’s not a big deal. I find that particular note on these stupid. That’s it. End of discussion. Move on.
“Where the Lines Overlap” is one of my favorite Paramore tracks that almost NEVER gets talked about. Just throwing some love out there for that song.
