the band shut down all their social media because they are busy methodically inserting each of themselves into the economic system within your lavish home and lifestyle and, due to accidentally locking themselves in your underground panic room, are releasing their next record via the lights hanging over your entry staircase.

Weird move to release a cover as your final song before you break up.

 

The band have pulled out of their South American dates in March.

 

The lack of transparency with fans is becoming kinda shitty when these festivals aren’t cheap and a lot of people are probably going solely for them.

 

I'm generally in the camp of "bands don't owe their fans explanations" but sometimes they do, especially if it's for shows overseas when they don't regularly get your tours and are likely traveling to get there.

 

And if this is because their contract ended with Atlantic, which some are surmising even with the festivals being dropped, then that's a terrible fucking contract.

It's a theory on the subreddit. I don't buy it. I also don't buy that they couldn't have hired their own TMs in the meantime because who wouldn't jump at the chance to work with Paramore?

 

that's as good of a confirmation as any that they're sticking around.

 

This is such a weird situation, and even weirder that it has gone on with so long with zero update. What benefit to the band is weeks of speculation?

 

Their crew doesn't work for the label. They have plenty of money to hire and retain their crew as free agents.

 

That and they are still going to do the Taylor Swift tour, I’d guess.

 

I’ve seen tons of swifties unironically say they hope Paramore pulls out so they can get Sabrina Carpenter lol

 

The "see you in the next era" part makes me feel even more like this is a case of them trying to finish up a record or something. Maybe they weren't expecting to be ready to go on another one so fast but now they're on a roll?

 

At the very least, this whole “being mysterious/wiping socials/backing out of tours and only giving cryptic updates” phase they’re in has been awkwardly and poorly executed in my opinion.

but in all honesty. they're probably drained mentally and physically. They likely see the eras tour as the best thing to focus on currently

 

Yeah; at this point this is just annoying. They don’t have to go into any details but just acknowledging what’s going on broadly would be good to their fan base.

 

Or maybe the simplest answer is they don't know and have no additional information besides what they've shared to give anyone.
