Weren't they already talking about writing the next record? I think there's a lot of uncertainty around what uncertainty means here. Probably more about whether they will self-release or pursue another label.
I could see them following a bit after mewithouyou here in the sense that they just don't need a label to connect to their fanbase anymore. Mewithoutyou put out some of their best stuff with Ten Stories and after without a label, having full control over not only their creative direction but also their business decisions, etc.
I don't think they're going anywhere. They've alluded to something coming after the TIW remixes and I remember them saying they were pretty fired up and eager to work on what comes next. It'll be interesting to see what label they end up with! I just don't see a band with 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify going independent although it would be pretty cool
Also this is arguably the biggest they’ve ever been, so I don’t see them going anywhere except to take some time off before the next album. In all honesty though I don’t see a new Paramore album until at least 2026
I’m fine with that! I do hope I get to to see them sooner than that though, I wasn’t able to go to the tour this year :(
The rest of the quote changes the vibe completely, haha: As for the future of Paramore, all three members agreed that there’s a level of uncertainty. But one thing’s for sure — they’re still going to be together, and they’re still going to keep having fun. “The only thing that matters is we will still get to be each other's community,” Williams says. Farro agrees: “I just hope we can keep building the Paramore empire and then rule the world.” And wherever they end up, the massive community of fans Paramore has cultivated will be here for them, too.
Everyone's over here worrying about the future of the band, when we're getting new music, etc... and I'm just over here asking when they're finally going to make it up to Portland again after nine years since their last show here. I know Hayley was sick and they can't help that. Portland just needs some Paramore love at some point.
Full quote provides less doom and gloom Now that Paramore has spent the year touring behind This Is Why (and making sure to take better care of themselves while they’re at it), a chapter of the band’s career has come to a close. They’ve now fulfilled all label obligations and are effectively free agents. As for the future of Paramore, all three members agreed that there’s a level of uncertainty. Oops, I see @lack of color pointed this out already. Thanks!
It’s still kind of crazy they never played a Chicago show on this tour aside from the small theatre show they did that sold out quickly and had insane resale.
It has been 6 hours since the profile picture on their Facebook went blank. What the heck is going on?!?
A tour where there are several pdx dates and those with tickets to the canceled date gets first dibs and also a personalized replica in their size of one of hayley's wardrobe items I mean these seems completely reasonable to me.
