Pretty impressive setlist, although I could do without their solo songs. I'm a little jealous they're skipping my city this time around.

I thought it's pretty fun they would include their solo songs in between

Misery Business being brought back into the setlist might be the bigger news here! Paramore is baaaaack

I assume Misery Business has some updated lyrics?

I don't really follow this band but it's kind of weird they only play 2 songs from Riot! and none from AWKIF. I guess they really aren't into pop punk anymore haha

I think a lot of bands prefer not to play their old stuff. At this point it’s fan service, but you’ve gotta do what keeps you going too. I imagine they are so tired of playing riot.

I believe Hayley had a fan or the fans sing certain parts of the song

Makes sense since she performed it at Coachella with Billie Eilish

Which part is now offensive? Body like an hour glass ticking like a clock? Nothing more?

I had to look at the lyrics to MB to see what was offensive...if people are mad at the word "whore", that's pretty stupid.

    Composer, but never composed.

did they ever actually perform any shows without misery business? i'm sure they announced they were dropping it just before their break and now they've played it on their first show back sooo...?

I think that was entirely Hayley's decision to retire the song.

I had to look up the lyrics, and without being bad, the lyrics are (arguably) pretty juvenile. That word aside, I understand why someone in their thirties wouldn't want to sing something they've written as a teenager.

Keep in mind they still had one foot in the door of the Christian music world at the time this was actually a 'controversy'.

    Sending my love

I feel like they skipped it at one point during AL but they played it the last show before the break so it never really got retired

I mean I do think the song is offensive. But also as I get older I agree with what she said at the show. Lyrically the song isn't cool but I think it can be enjoyed without necessarily endorsing the lyrical themes. She was a young girl in a male-dominated space so internalized misogyny was probably a big thing she had to grapple with. As long as they're not writing songs like that in 2022 it doesn't rly matter to me.

Interesting to see that people are actually offended by such a song. As someone that doesn’t like offending people this is why I don’t try to make any new friends.

I mean if that stops u from making friends that's kind of a lot. Being offended or unhappy about a song doesn't mean people are frothing at the mouth or crying about it. I think the lyrical theme of misery business aged badly but also as someone close to Hayleys age that also grew up in the scene albeit much farther removed, I get it and had the same pick me feelings. Not that my opinion matters but I support however Paramore feels comfortable handling it and misery business was my 2nd most listened to song of 2021 lol
