here's a fun little connection- "I don't want you to help me through this / I don't want to start over again." vs. "I think I'm tired of getting over it / Just starting something new again"
My two favorites from each record Emergency Here We Go Again For a Pessimist... Miracle Brick by Boring Brick Careful Last Hope Ain't It Fun Fake Happy Idle Worship
Relistening to self-titled and wow does this album make more sense in the context of "Fast In My Car", "Grow Up", "Daydreaming", and "Crazy Girls". More than ever makes "Now" feel like a major transitional song for them.
I just dislike that his first take on explaining obvious themes of albums has somehow granted him an audience. I wish more people were reading Craig Jenkins' reviews than watching this clown.
Pre-AL top 10: 10. Fences 9. Misguided Ghosts 8. My Heart 7. Future 6. Playing God 5. Brick By Boring Brick 4. Let The Flames Begin 3. Part II 2. Careful 1. Ain't It Fun
Tough to include AL songs at the moment but my list looks like this: - Playing God - Brick By Boring Brick - Where The Lines Overlap - All I Wanted - Ain't It Fun - Last Hope - For A Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic - When It Rains - That's What You Get - Brighter Honorable mention to crushcrushcrush which floored me the first time I heard it and got me into the band. Surprised at the lack of s/t in this list but I think that album plays really well more as a full body of work, even if the individual songs aren't necessary discography highlights for me.
i would like to formally apologize for not having "hallelujah" on my top ten i just listened to it and realized my mistake.
I have a feeling this is going to be how I feel about a lot of songs next time I revisit their albums.
Going to watch them when uploaded to YouTube Apparently Hayley fell from the stage during soundcheck.
I skipped a whole page to be fair but this thread moves too fast you can't expect me to see everything! All the lists I skimmed had it missing. I loved that song even back when I wasn't that into paramore. Now that's a stellar vocal performance
Haha yea I wouldn't have expected you to see it, just pointing it out because that song doesn't get nearly enough credit. Her voice gives me chills in that song.
You want to know what it instantly reminded me of ? Super Mario 64 "wtf are you talking about ?" well the pre-level part when you choose the star, the synths sound similar to me lol
