for me...damn. a decade ago. it was 2007 and i saw Paramore on MTV, and i thought it was cool a girl with dyed hair looking really punk was leading a rock band and dressing all weird and shit, and she had a unique raspy voice. and i was like wow this is so cool. i'm actually enjoying this music (i had only ever listened to mainstream pop/rnb before lmao) and a woman is leading the band! haha. so from there i started to delve more into pop punk, alt, post-hardcore, etc. i specifically remember liking emery and fall out boy soon after.
Just listened to this thing for the first time. One thing's sure : Taylor York just became one of my favorite guitarists of all time. Dude created his own style in just two albums. Another thing that instantly stood out : I wonder if the band has been influenced by Mutemath and Mew, because asides from the obvious 80's new wave, pop and Phoenix influences, this is what those songs remind me the most of. edit : and FOALS !! of course FOALS !! guitar tone is sooooo similar, as well as some of the licks
I have to quote this even if this is few weeks old, because this is spot on. What I love even more is that they're still so young, for such a long lasting band, which means that we're gonna get looooooooooots of mindblowing stuff in the future.
Yes, on my third listen I was already trying to play guitar over his parts. He was already a great guitarist, but this time he stepped it up really impressively.
I don't dislike Fences like I do We Are Broken but it's never been my fave Understand why people love it tho
great recommandations. i saw you post a few times about Florrie in the past few weeks and I wanted to thank you for the discover. that said, the latter came with a huge disappointment : she seems basically stuck in some shitty label limbo, because she hasn't released anything since her 2014 EP right ? i hate the music industry, same thing happened to Chloe Howl, Mutya Keisha Siobhan, Jojo (not anymore), etc.
My top 10 pre-AL with a favorite and the rest in no order: 1. Part II Emergency Here we go again never let this go Let the flames begin Careful Feeling sorry Decode In the mourning Ain't it fun
They should have done TV promotion last week, or even two weeks ago. Marketing was definitely off for this album. Like also how they are playing Good Morning America in AUGUST lol.
Like Jason was saying earlier, I feel like this was a pretty deliberate surprise/quick rollout for them. Totally atypical and weird with some of these appearance dates, but I'm excited for all of it lol
They're for sure gonna play Hard Times but hoping we get another Kimmel vid posted online of another choice trackkkkkkkk
ughhhhhhhhhhh we have to do this top ten don't we? this is nearly impossible for me. i'm gonna skip AL for now. no particular order, but "miracle" is my absolute all-time favorite paramore song. -Miracle -FAPIPO -Careful -Turn it Off -I Caught Myself -Escape Route -Last Hope -Grow Up -Conspiracy -LTFB (but only the live version) songs from AL that are coming for spots on this list: -RCB -Caught in the Middle -26
Earlier in one of these threads I said "Fences" was one of my least favorite Paramore songs and I just listened the other night and I was indeed wrong. It rocks
