I signed up for the presale, I'll be home on Wednesday morning, and I have money in my bank account. Lets go.
Hits Daily Double doesn't seem to have projections on Paramore but they have Harry Styles (250-275K) and Zac Brown Band (170-185K) as the projected top two.
Fuck me the NY date is the day before Comic Con starts Also wish I had been able to do pre-sale registration earlier, just saw it a bit ok.
i'm a lil biased tbh lol i used to be super bothered by her and wavves vibe back in 2010 and never gave a legit shot after that lol
Well, you do have a point. But they did go full on with it this album, and the music videos are extremely retro. Quite a bit of the guitar tones and upbeat sound/melodies are similar and reminiscent of some great acts from that time. Not a knock on the album at all though, it's still very much Paramore and him love it. I am him.
Perhaps. In general I find the 80s revival comments a little weird, thus my comment. Glad you're digging the record regardless.
i wish they still sold the shirt i used to have back in the day. it was green and had a yellow tree on the side at the bottom. it was a cool design, but i can't even find a picture of it anywhere... boo.
Yeah I don't really like Best Coast at all. Waaaay too repetitive and lyrically weak, same goes for Wavves
Review loses all credibility when it says "Williams, a 5-foot-nothing firebrand with an exuberant mean streak". Nah. And good god you'd swear the Chainsmokers literally invented the synth, the way everything gets compared to them these days.
I read reviews like this and wonder how these people got into positions to write about music.. seriously, that type of writing isn't what its about.. maybe I'm overreacting but that review rubbed me the wrong way
like rhythmically and instrumentally the album is so much more than that.. and says so much more than that. idk Im definitely biased and that is why I'm not writing reviews but this just seems so off..also saying that there are using mostly drum machines.. that just isn't true right?
Nope not overreacting. It focused almost entirely on the tabloid aspect of the band's career and reiterated every claim that's been thrown at Hayley over the last 10 years, presenting it as fact instead of as complicated issues with more than one aspects at play. It's exactly the type of thing that has plagued the band for years, and which, I assume, contributed to a lot of the exhaustion, hurt, and anxiety Hayley is now experiencing and were a lyrical theme on the album. It also carries not so subtle tones of sexism (Hayley the bitch because she's a powerful frontwoman who often outshines the band around her, despite her best efforts not to).
What's this all about? I haven't noticed any efforts on her part NOT to be the centrepiece of the band, but why should she? It's her insane vocals that the band has always been built around - what about that makes her a bitch? Also I haven't listened yet, but am I right in saying this album should be a knockout? I'm ready for it
