I somehow feel like this is how most new albums are received - almost unanimous adoration at 1000% for a new album. Can't remember the last time I read a thread about a new album that didn't have that kind of feel (this site or any site). Not a criticism of anyone, but I've learned to always hedge expectations because very rarely is anything as good as a thread makes it sound like it is (at least for me).
I expect a ton of this, it's not my favorite track on the record but as someone who has been listening to mewithoutyou for almost 15 years it was so cool hearing Aaron on that track. If I had no connection to mewithoutyou I'm not sure I would love it as much as I do.
So because of how catchy and great every song is I've been going into the habit of taking bits and pieces from songs and combining them while humming/singing to myself. It's great.
This has probably been said, but I really love No Friend as a penultimate track. It caps off the album journey in a really chilling way before "Tell Me How" concludes everything.
While it's not my favorite track I'm blown away each time by tell me how. I love hearing no friend and then still get giddy awaiting tell me how.
Forced my parents to listen to it while driving back from school They both really liked it and had me give an abridged history of Paramore I did skip No Friend tho so as not to put off my mother aha
Yea No Friend is the type where you really have to know who you're showing it to to judge whether they're worthy enough to listen to it
I wonder what Hayley's reaction would be if someone said "No Friend" was their favorite song off the album.
Unrelated but I sort of feel that the bonus tracks for self titled bridge brand new eyes and that record. There's some b side rarity stuff from this band that I've sort of neglected, going through everything now. Anything essential?
Also feel some of these songs may be sort of what they meant when they said when they started writing self titled Taylor was trying to write songs like they used to.. glad they shifted that song me it's okay isn't very good haha
there's a whole unofficial fan comp called "the b-sides" that has some good stuff on it, also seek out the "singles club EP" if you haven't mostly for In the Mourning
